Kiehl’s apothecary: Chadstone David Jones counter gets Human Statue Bodyart promotion

The Kiehl’s apothecary health and beauty counter at Melbourne's Chadstone Shopping Centre is the latest Australian apothecary outlet to get a Human Statue Bodyart promotional living model.

In case you didn't know Kiehl’s was founded as an apothecary in New York’s East Village neighborhood over 160 years ago, and they have been expanding the luxury franchise outlets around Australia over the past number of years.

Ingredients are the single most important component their their products and they have always proudly displayed theirs.

Ingredients are not chosen on their aesthetic merit – only formulas with ingredients that are truly beneficial to the skin are selected. They select many naturally derived ingredients for use in the formulations, and they are committed to utilizing only the most gentle and efficacious formulas for maximum benefit and results.

Kiehl's is a very community and philanthropic minded company. Giving is the embodiment of "The Mission of Kiehl’s". Written over 30 years ago by Kiehl’s founding family, their Mission clearly stated their belief in the importance of giving back to the communities in which they serve customers every day.

For the Holiday season 2010, in stores in Australia only, Kiehl’s was pleased to announce a collaboration with one of the foremost recognized Australian iconic artists, Ken Done who is using his creative genius to help children in need around the world. With the shared vision to help to create safer, stronger local communities for children, the Kiehl’s and DONE partnership raised awareness and funds through the sale of a Limited Edition Crème de Corps Holiday Collection, comprised of a three-product offering. Each product in the collection featured the artwork of ‘Postcard June’ (2007, acrylic on canvas, 91 x 122cm). 100% of Kiehl’s net profits from the sale of each product in Australia were donated to UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, the world’s leading advocate for children.

In Australia Kiehl’s continue to partner with leading charity, Red Kite. Every month they collect money to support children in need and organize shop for a cause events.

Kiehl's elected to use a Human Statue Bodyart model and campaign to help boost awareness of their Chadstone, Melbourne store display. The statue campaign was effective as it helped attract shoppers, extra walk through traffic at the shopping centre, as well as become a topic of conversation in the Australian beauty industry.

Kiehl's continues to innovate in an ultra impressive fashion - be it with products, services, or out of the box media and marketing campaigns.

Charles Billich and Ian Thorpe; Thorpe's Foundation For Youth - Spiritual Training

Via Flickr:
It's the talk of the Sydney arts world...

Iconic Australian sports figure Ian Thope will return to Sydney to launch a portrait painted of him for the 10-year anniversary of his charity, Fountain for Youth.

The painting was completed a year ago but has not been revealed due to the swim star's Olympic training commitments.

It's understood Thorpe will attend tonight's launch, coming off the Olympic trials in Adelaide.

Well known and celebrated artist Charles Billich has enjoyed some wonderful conversations with the swimmer during their sittings for the portrait and thinks Thorpe is "going for the theatrics" and might surprise everyone with his comeback.

"He's an impressive guy, not because he's famous but because he has enormous discipline, enormous energy and dedication and if he wants to do it, he will do it and he will do it again," Billich says.

"I think he is leaving it to the last; he might have a sense of the theatrics with his timing and he'll surprise everyone."

The art is entitled "Spiritual Training" and is described as "A composite portrait of Ian Thorpe...an iconic Australian Renaissance man".

The occasion is in support of Ian Thorpe's charity - The Foundation for Youth. The painting can be acquired by silent auction.

Taylor Swift Speak Now Tour Hots Sydney, Australia

You might have heard that Taylor Swift was spotted taking in the view of Sydney yesterday, including even catching a harbour cruise with her friends and family.

Taylor is currently on tour in Australia, and has been hard to spot as she's been doing the rounds.

The Aussie press spotted her boarding a boat in Sydney Harbour for an evening cruise.

Taylor's first Sydney took place tonight at a jam packed Allphones Arena.

The costumes and set were amazing, as a largely teenage girl audience of 14,000 or so cheered and screamed to their teen idol.

Taylor seemed to love playing to the full Allphones Arena, playing five different guitars, two banjos, the piano and a ukele. We also counted at least four different costume changes.

The country music icon is known for writing "13" on her hand before each show because it's her lucky number. Dozens of '13' signs were in the crowd, and some young ladies wrote it on their bodies also.

Taylor told the press "I was born on the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first No.1 song had a 13-second intro and every time I've won an award I've been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter," she has previously said.

We wish Taylor well on her amazing career to date and hope she enjoys the rest of her tour and stay in Australia.
